An Island Parish
An Island Parish is a British television documentary series which followed the lives of residents in the Island parish of the Isles of Scilly, the remotest parish within the Church of England.
In the first of three series of An Island Parish, the makers documented the appointment of the islands’ new chaplain, Rev. Guy Scott and the difficulties he faced adjusting to Island life.
Following the success of the first series the BBC commissioned a second longer series of An Island Parish which looked in more detail at the various aspects of island life including; the gig racing, employment prospects for the young, tourism and different ways for islanders to increase income.
In the third series of An Island Parish, the documentary makers turned their attention towards the work of the Methodist Church on the Isles of Scilly as seen through the eyes of the local Minister, Revd David Easton.
