Golf
The Isles of Scilly is home to Britain’s most South-westerly Golf Club, offering some of the most spectacular coastal views of any course in the UK.
Scilly golf history begins with the Isles of Scilly Golf Club’s creation in 1904 when Dr. Brushfield called upon local residents to help clear moorland which at the time was covered knee deep in bracken and other foliage.
The work to clear the land proved worthwhile, creating a golf course that is ideal for the holiday golfer.
Laid out over gently sloping, open moorland you will find that the ball sits well on the fairways with the greens kept in remarkable condition despite the absence of sprinkler systems.
The Isles os Scilly Golf club offers a 9 hole course with 18 tees, excellent lies from tee to green and a bar with sun terrace offering a choice of snacks and evening meals.
The Golf Club is situated just 1½ miles from Hughtown on the island of St.Mary’s.
The clean air, impressive backdrop and cool sea breeze all add to the appeal of this charming and challenging golf course.
